My guardian angel


     During this educational activity participants will be acquinted with museum‘s collection, a meaning of guardian angel in religion and everyday human‘s life. Not only will children be able to overlook most favorite angel exhibits but also hold them in their hands. Children will get a chance to make a unique decoration – own guardian angel. Natural materials, such as wood, leather and canvas, will be used for this creation.

     This educational activity may be applied for different age groups, varying from primary school to adults.

      Duration – 45 minutes.

     Price  per adult – 1,8 €

     Price for pre-school age children – 1,3 €

National heritage – toys from straws


     During this educational activity participants will be acquinted with museum‘s collection. A part of exhibits are made of natural material – straws. Toys made from straws are considered to be one of the oldest type of  handcrafts in Lithuania.          Every participant will create his own unique angel which could be used not only as holiday decoration but also a lovely present for parents, grandparents or friends. In order to keep in touch with Lithuanian customs, only natural materials, such as straws and leather, will be used.

     This educational activity is dedicated to 4 – 8 class students.

     Duration – 45 minutes.

Angel from linen fiber


     During this educational activity participants will be acquinted with museum‘s collection. A part of exhibits are made of natural materials. Linen fiber is one of them. Grown and well maintained linen  is  high quality material for works of creation. This educational programme gives a possibility for its participants to make an angel from linen fiber of his own.

     This educational activity is dedicated to 4 – 8 class students.

     Duration – 45 minutes.

Holiday card


     During this educational activity participants will be acquinted with museum‘s collection. Angels which are depicted in antique art creations are among most popular topics for artists nowadays. Drawn, carved from wood, molded from clay and wax, knitted – each of them impersonates features given by artists. This educational activity provides a possibility for its participants to become an artists and create his own unique holiday card. A variety of materials will be used, such as paper, cancvas and colouring tools.

     This educational activity may be applied for different age groups, varying from primary school to high school students.         Duration – 45 minutes.

     Price per student –1,8 €

     Price for pre-school age children– 1,3 €

Sculptor‘s profession, reality and perspectives


     During this educational activity participants will be acquinted with museum‘s collection. Students will be introduced to sculptor‘s creative activity, most famous sculptors, higher education institutions which prepare professionals of sculpture. Students have an extraordinary possibility to familiarise with old tools which were used for carving.

     Activity is led by folk artist Rytis Milkintas.

     This educational activity is dedicated to 7 – 12 class students.

     Duration – 45 minutes.

Period of press prohibition, formation of national identity

      Students will be acquinted with a period of  Lithuania as a part of  Russian Empire, the secret schools, most known book smugglers, public figures which gave a contribution to a conservation of Lithuanian language and national identity during harsh historical circumstances. During this lecture students will be given a possibility to familiarise themselves with prohibited Lithuanian books of 19 th -20 th centuries.

     Activity is led by folk artist Rytis Milkintas.

     This educational activity is dedicated to 7 – 12 class students.

Influence of social environment to artist


     During this educational activity participants will be introduced to museum‘s collection. Students wiill be acquinted with constantly varying creator‘s situation in globalised society.  Also will be presented artists who create folk art thus, saving national identity.

Conservation of national identity in wood carving


     During this educational activity participants will be introduced to museum‘s collection of wooden angels which was created by folk artist‘s. Students are going to be introduced to traditional wood sculpture and artists of different times.             During this lecture students will be given a possibility to familiarise themselves with antique carvers and carpenters tools. Activity is led by folk artist Rytis Milkintas.

Easter egg


Easter egg – symbol of nature‘s and human‘s spiritrual revival. Since ancient times they have been decorated by adults and children. Decorating with wax has been known since 18 th century. This educational programme is dedicated for those who want to familiarise with traditions of  Easter egg decorating, customs of Easter. In accordance with old Lithuanian tradition bees wax is used to paint eggs.  

This educational activity may be applied for different age groups, varying from primary school to high school students.

Duration – 45 minutes. Every participant should bring boiled eggs.
